Sanyo, Matsushita shares rise on reports tie-up talks underway

HONG KONG (MarketWatch) -- Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., maker of the Panasonic brand of consumer goods, and Sanyo Electric Co are considering a capital and operational tie-up, a Japanese newspaper reported Monday, although both firms issued statements denying any such deal was in the works.
