Fuel price jump, car sales lift Japan March retail spending 1.1%

HONG KONG (MarketWatch) -- Japanese retail sales posted gains in March, the eighth month of gains and the longest monthly expansion since 1994, although overall sales gains were almost flat when the effects of inflation and a jump in automobile sales were stripped out, economists said.
