GM swings to a first-quarter loss

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- General Motors Corp. said Wednesday that it swung to a first-quarter loss as strong overseas growth, particularly in Latin America, failed to make up for losses in the automaker's home market and another hit from its financing division.
