Airline Stocks: United, Continental shares lower as sector drags

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Shares of Continental Airlines and UAL Corp. traded lower Monday, retreating after Continental nixed speculation the two carriers might merge so as to better compete against a potential combination of Delta Air Lines and Northwest Airlines.
